Remove a stamp from a photo or document
Clear ink stamps and overlay marks from a photographed or scanned page while keeping the paper texture consistent around them.
The short version
An ink stamp on paper is a strong, saturated mark on a light, near-uniform background, which makes the boundary easy for the fill to work with. Over blank paper it disappears completely; laid across printed text it will rebuild paper rather than recover the words.
How to do it
Drop the page image in.
Paint over the stamp including any smudge.
Remove and download.
Questions
- Will the paper texture match?
- Closely. Paper grain is soft and uniform, so the reconstructed patch sits in well at normal viewing size.
- Can it recover text under the stamp?
- No. Nothing can recover what is not in the file. It produces plausible paper, not the original words.
- What about a stamp overlapping a signature?
- The signature underneath will not be reconstructed correctly. Expect to lose the parts the stamp covered.
- Does it handle a faded stamp?
- Yes, and faded marks are easier, since less contrast means a less obvious seam.
