The short version
Claude does not generate photographs, so a search for a Claude watermark is almost always about something else: a badge on an exported artifact, a label baked into a shared diagram, or the surrounding chrome caught in a screenshot of a conversation. Those are flat graphics sitting on flat backgrounds, which is the easiest case there is for a fill to reconstruct, because the pixels around the badge are usually a single even colour or a simple gradient. Brush over the label, and what fills back in is the background it was covering.

Questions
- Why is there a page for this if Claude does not make images?
- Because the thing people are actually holding is a screenshot or an exported artifact with a label on it. The picture is the export, not a generated photo, and a label on a flat background is a straightforward thing to paint out.
- Does it work well on flat colour backgrounds?
- Better than on anything else. A fill has to invent plausible pixels, and inventing more of an even background or a soft gradient is close to the easiest possible version of that task, so edges come out clean.
- Can it remove text from a screenshot as well?
- Yes, the same brush handles any flat overlay: labels, timestamps, a username in a corner. Paint over it and the area behind is reconstructed from what surrounds it.
- Will the screenshot stay sharp?
- Screenshots are usually PNG, which is lossless, and a PNG is written back out as a PNG here. Text elsewhere in the capture stays exactly as crisp as it was.
