Crop an image online
Drag a rectangle and export exactly that region at full resolution. Lossless, with no re-encoding surprises and no sign-up.
The short version
Sometimes the fastest way to get rid of something is not to rebuild it but to cut it out of the frame. The Snip tool draws a rectangle, dims everything outside it so you can see exactly what you are keeping, and exports just that region at full resolution.
How to do it
Drop the image in and pick Snip.
Drag the rectangle you want to keep.
Confirm, and that region downloads on its own.
Questions
- Is cropping lossless?
- The kept pixels are unchanged. PNG output is fully lossless; JPEG input is re-encoded once at high quality.
- When should I crop instead of fill?
- Whenever the thing you want gone is at the edge of the frame. Cropping is always accurate; filling is always a reconstruction.
- Can I see what I am cutting off?
- Yes. The area outside your rectangle is dimmed while you drag, and the pixel dimensions are shown live.
- Can I crop after removing an object?
- Yes. Snip works on whatever is currently in the editor, including a result you have just cleaned.
