Remove a logo from an image
Paint over a logo or brand mark and it is filled in from the surrounding image. Full resolution, in your browser.
The short version
Logos are typically small, high-contrast and parked in a corner, which is close to ideal. The one thing to watch is that most logos carry a soft edge or a faint drop shadow, and a selection that stops at the visible edge tends to leave that halo behind.
How to do it
Drop the image in.
Box-select the logo, a few pixels wider than it looks.
Remove and check the corner at full zoom.

- Why is a faint outline left behind?
- Because the logo has a soft edge or shadow extending past its visible boundary. Select a little wider and it goes.
- Does a semi-transparent logo work?
- Yes, often better than a solid one, because the surrounding image already shows through, so the fill has more to work from.
- A logo across the middle of the photo?
- Harder, because there is real detail behind it. Corner logos over plain background are the reliable case.
- What about a logo on fabric or a product?
- It fills the area, but it invents the surface. On flat material that reads fine; over a seam or fold it will not.
